Blended Education
Blended Education
Blended
education is the combination of face to face learning along with digital
learning.
Digital
learning involves learning things online such as coding, programming, making
PowerPoints, etc. it is not only using a computer but making use of it to learn.
Another
important segment of blended education is learning physically which is equally
significant. It is the traditional style of brick and mortar education. The improvisation
is that digital learning and physical learning work parallel.
Learning
online does not work alone. Students will enjoy watching a movie or playing an
online game but when it comes to studying online, they have to be convinced.
Here the teacher has to motivate the students, assign suitable program or study
material for them and create hands on projects. Students have to be confident
and believe that what they are doing is valuable.
Teachers
can upload assignments, notes and lecture videos online so that students can
access them any time. This would save a lot of time and teacher need not repeat
the topic.
Students
learn better with pictures and diagram. These days, online tutoring platforms offer such environment which
makes us feel physically present over there.
For blended education, different types of modules are used. One of them is the rotational module. In this module, students are divided into small groups. Each group does different tasks in a rotational form. For example- one group interacts with the teacher, another group collaborates and discusses a topic and the other one works on computer. This saves time as well as facilitates better understanding.
Blended education is a new normal for future schools because gives more time for teacher student interaction, eases concepts and prepares students for upcoming technologic future.
I would
like to conclude with a brilliant quote by Albert Einstein-
Education
is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.
In my opinion off line education is most essential for students to develop their activities and mind.
