Suicide Awareness(Article)

Image
"The epic story of tomorrow can't be written if it ends today" Nearly one lakh people commit suicide every year in India. There are nearly 8 lakh suicide cases every year around the world. In 2019, the age group of 18-45 years, accounted for 67% of the total cases in India. Suicide is a behavior, which is motivated by the desire to escape psychological pain. Now the most important question arises; what is the cause of suicidal thoughts? Is the problem being so big that it cannot be tackled up? Is the problem being so huge that ending one’s life is the only solution? Suicides are a result of mental trauma which is caused by disturbing experiences in childhood, death or separation from near ones, bullying, loss of social status, bad physical appearance, bad academic results, loss of job and various other reasons. Our mind is very sensitive; any disturbing event gets printed on it and affects one’s life forever. “Haters cause depression, depression causes suicide”. Hateful c...

"God has strewn our paths with wonders and we certainly should not go through life with our eyes shut" - Alexander Graham Bell REELS! SHORTS!  These are very familiar, and many of us enjoy watching it too, especially our generation. But, Is it productive? Are we wisely using our time?? Do we really enjoy it??? People used to be idle before social media came into existence but after social media, especially the "REELS" and "SHORTS" got popularized, people are seen occupied with their handsets for infinite amount of hours.  Reels or Shorts, as we all are very familiar with are those 10-15 seconds short clips that we get to see on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc. Today's youth, adults and children enjoy watching reels. But reels have a huge impact on their lives; their physical and mental health . No one can continuously do a single thing for hours that too everyday, but reels and shorts have the power to keep you glued for hours, ever...

Van Mahotsav

Image
Van Mahotsav   Van Mahotsav is a tree planting week celebrated in the month of July from 1 st to 7 th of July. It was initiated in 1950 by K.M. Munshi, the then union agricultural minister to raise awareness for the conservation of forest and trees. Van Mahotsav as the name suggests festival of trees or celebration of trees. Why do we celebrate a festival or celebrate something, when it has something to do with us, when it has some significance in our lives. According to me, an Mahotsav is not only to raise awareness for conservation of trees but also to make people understand their significance. Trees play a vital role for our environment and our existence. Trees most importantly provide us oxygen, they bring rain, reduce pollution, prevent abrupt raise in temperature, provide us fruits and vegetables and many other uncountable things. Trees are an asset and we merely cut them down for our selfish purposes. Imagine a situation where the natures takes back its reve...

WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, are killing creativity

Image
WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, are killing creativity WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram are killing creativity; yes they are. The dictionary meaning of creativity is to express oneself and their ideas in a new way and use imagination to create something new. Now if we keep on doing one same thing for hours and hours; we all know social media is an addiction, then when do we get time to imagine? To think new and innovative? We don’t get time to explore our brain, its capability because all that gets exhausted. Youngsters keep scrolling through their social media feeds, keep on chatting and leave no time for creativity. We all know T.V is called an idiot box but I believe mobile phones are more into making people dunderheads. The "ping" of the notification makes us so eager that we leave all our work and go after it. Just imagine yourself doing one same thing for a whole day that too of no benefit, will you be left in a situation to do something els...

Blended Education

Image
Blended Education Blended education is the combination of face to face learning along with digital learning. Digital learning involves learning things online such as coding, programming, making PowerPoints, etc. it is not only using a computer but making use of it to learn. Another important segment of blended education is learning physically which is equally significant. It is the traditional style of brick and mortar education. The improvisation is that digital learning and physical learning work parallel. Learning online does not work alone. Students will enjoy watching a movie or playing an online game but when it comes to studying online, they have to be convinced. Here the teacher has to motivate the students, assign suitable program or study material for them and create hands on projects. Students have to be confident and believe that what they are doing is valuable. Teachers can upload assignments, notes and lecture videos online so that students can access them any t...

Actions Speak Louder than Words

Image
Actions Speak Louder than Words - Abraham Lincoln “Actions speak louder than words” this typically means that you are recognized by your behavior and not by what you say. A person is defined by his character rather than what he speaks; he might fake his sayings but he can’t fake his personality. If he is uncivilized, he can’t act courteous, if he is a moron, he can’t act brainy. The way we behave inculcates in our personality and it becomes a habit. The way we react to situations shows our attitude and the way we communicate shows our intellectuals. It is well said that “Watch your actions, they become your habits”.   Our actions actually speak a lot. Take the example of ROSA PARKS. She was an Afro-American lady who denied to offer her seat to a white passenger. It were her actions which led to such a big civil rights movement and helped lakhs of Afro-Americans. It is necessary to have self-control. The way we behave creates a perception in other’s mind. This means t...
